Valerie Robinson, Director of Marketing and Special Projects Valerie Robinson brings more than 25 years experience in marketing and communications to the DDD, where she is responsible for developing and implementing a brand strategy and assisting the President and Board in developing strategies to accomplish the DDD mission. She also acts as a resource to other team members in seeking revenue sources and researching best practices for implementation. Ms. Robinson holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in both English and Political Science from the University of Southern Mississippi, where she graduated with honors. She was a news reporter and editor before joining the public relations field as Director of Public Affairs for the Regional Transit Authority. After five years, she opened her own consulting firm working with government, private and not-for-profit clients on a variety of award-winning communications projects. Ms. Robinson serves as President of Old Algiers Main Street Corporation, Vice President of the House of Ruth and board member of A Studio in the Woods. Since Katrina, she has served on a variety of committees for neighborhood rebuilding throughout the city and is a member of the Regional Council for the Committee for a Better Louisiana (CABL). She lives in New Orleans, near her two daughters and two grandchildren. |
