Graffiti Removal Program In the interest of public cleanliness and safety, the DDD has enacted a Graffiti Removal Program to combat graffiti on public and private property. Graffiti on Public Property To combat graffiti on public property, Block-by-Block Cleaning Ambassadors identify and remove all graffiti, decals, flyers, paint, posters, and stickers from public surfaces as part of their contracted sidewalk cleaning services. This includes sidewalk surfaces, light poles, traffic signals and electrical boxes, news box corrals, trash receptacles, planters, phone booths, benches and art pieces. Please report any observance of graffiti on any such public structure, as listed above to: Richard McCall Director of Public Space Operations Downtown Development District 201 St. Charles Ave., Suite 3912 New Orleans, LA 70170-3912 Main 504-561-8927 Fax 504-581-1765 rmccall@neworleansdowntown.com Please include the location of the graffiti and a photo if possible. The DDD will remove the graffiti within two days of receipt of any notice of graffiti. The DDD will aggressively enforce ordinances that prohibit the placement of graffiti on public/private structure property.
Graffiti on Private Property To combat graffiti on private property, the DDD has instituted a Graffiti Removal Program where private property owners can receive 50% with a maximum of $1,000 to offset the expense of graffiti removal from their property, including repainting costs. To participate in the program, please complete the form below. To expedite the process, please observe the following guidelines:
Once all the information is processed, a notification to proceed will be issued by the DDD. The work may then proceed with the approved bidder; the work may mot take longer than 30 days once the notice has been received. Once the work is completed, a final paid invoice and canceled check copy must be submitted. The DDD will send notification that the paperwork has been processed and is complete. The DDD will inform the stakeholder that a check will be issued for 50% of the cost, up to $1,000. If the paperwork is not complete the DDD will notify the applicant of the specific deficiencies and set a deadline for submission of missing items. |
