In the News
Through a $45 million stimulus grant, the City of New Orleans will extend streetcar service from the Union Passenger Terminal to Canal Street, using Loyola Avenue. The 1.5 mile project will intersect Canal Street at the intersections of Elk-Basin and Rampart Streets.

The $38.8 million reconstruction of the Saenger Theatre, including performance, patron and office space, is underway. The project is coordinated by the Canal Street Development Corporation and the property’s longtime private owner-managers, Saenger Theatre Partnership of Houston. Once completed, the 2,800 seat theatre will feature 80 shows per year and expects to sell 100,000 tickets annually.

Retail opportunities exist in the 500-1200 blocks of Canal Street.
