CANAL STREET FERRY TO ALGIERS & GRETNAPLACES TO PARK
Hop aboard the Canal Street ferry to historic Algiers Point on the West Bank for some of the greatest views of Downtown New Orleans and the French Quarter. You can board the ferry at the foot of Canal Street – next to the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas. The ferry runs every day from 6 a.m. to 12:15 a.m., and departs from the New Orleans side at :15 and :45 past the hour. It departs from the West Bank on the hour and :30 past the hour. Pedestrians ride for free. There is a $1 toll for vehicles leaving Algiers.
Headed to Gretna? The Gretna Ferry also departs from Canal Street and carries pedestrians as well as vehicles. There is $1 toll for cars and a $0.25 toll for westbound travelers. The Gretna Ferry operates from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays, from 12:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sundays.
