The Downtown Development District was featured in the February/March 2012 issue of Tourism Matters, published by the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau for the Gambit. The issue's cover story, which focuses on entrepreneurship and how it's redefining New Orleans, covers 504Ward, The Idea Village, The Downtown Development District and NOLABound. Writer Jyl Benson links these organizations' collaboration and work to New Orleans tourism by asserting that this entrepreneurship movement helps the city's tourism: "Many of the assets that attract the Creative Class to work and live in New Orleans – authenticity, an acceptance of varied cultures, unique and walk-able neighborhoods, a vibrant nightlight and social scene – are the same things that draw tourists from around the world." The DDD has worked hard to create a place brand for Downtown NOLA that attracts the best and brightest minds of the Creative Class.
